Kaden is trying a new Spring sport this year. Instead of sitting on the sidelines watching him play flag football or soccer, I'll be watching Kaden doing one of Conrad's favourite sports: ball hockey. Kaden was invited to practice with another team that secured some time at the rink this evening. As I watched Kaden practice with these guys, I couldn't get over how much he played exactly like Conrad. Exactly. His moves. His turns. His goals. He is his father's son.

While I was away with my teacher peeps, there was some excitement at home too. Kaden had his first friend group gathering at our house for pizza and a movie with both boys and girls in attendance yesterday. Today Kiandra's friend Chase came over to officially ask her to go to grad with him (they decided to go together a long time ago already but everyone kept bugging him that "so are we going to grad, or what?" was not an official invitation.) He bought her her favourite Starbucks drink and had the barista write this on the side:

She said yes! I'm so thankful for the friends that my kids have.

Not many people would willingly choose to spend a weekend away with their co-workers but we would! I work with absolutely amazing people and we met up for late night appetizers after our first (of many!) shopping stops. We laughed, we celebrated awesome news, we ate, talked, and enjoyed our time together.

That time I helped Kiandra fill our scholarship applications and when I noticed the spot for the parent/guardian signature and asked if she wanted me to sign it...she said "no, I can just sign it" and I realized she was right....she doesn't need an adult's signature anymore....she IS an adult. *ack!*

I was the designated photographer at the middle school spirit week events. This was a toilet paper football "Minute to Win it" challenge and Kaden and his friend were volunteered to hold the hoop for the throwers. I'm sure going to miss snapping photos of my son like this next year....Kaden on the other hand will be glad to have me out of his hair, lol!

Enjoying some unseasonably warm weather this morning at Kaden's hockey windup. It was actually enjoyable to sit on the sidelines and watch the paintball games.

Seven weeks post knee surgery and Conrad has been missing his Thursday night floor hockey. He went out today for the first time and survived the night by playing with less intensity than he usually does.

Kaden got called to sub for a former teammate in a 3 on 3 hockey game this evening. It was a 7-6 win for the team Kaden was helping out.

Kaden spent some of his dog walking and flyer money to buy a phone today. We will take over paying for the plan in August (just like we did for the girls when they started high school) but the deal he got made him decide to get it now and just pay for it himself. His ipod that he bought years ago stopped working and this became the logical upgrade in his mind.
